Piggy's and Palm Trees

>> Sunday, July 23, 2017

Good morning all.

This week I needed two cards, the first one is a get well card for a very sweet lady the broke her foot and needed surgery.

I thought the little piggy's were the perfect chose. I stamped the Pig in Puddle  then masked him ans stamped the new Brick Wall. They were colored with Copic markers. I stamped the Leonard the Pig Billboard and I used the Get Well Prayer to stamp the sign. Then fussy cut.

My second card was for my grandson Saturday was his 17th Birthday.

I started by sponging the circle die cut with it still in the die. then I stamped the Silhouette Palm Tree Line, them I sponged the card front with some of the same ink. The Small 1 Line Happy Birthday was stamped on a strip of white paper that was layered onto orange card stock.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Oxide Rainbow Water Stamping

>> Saturday, July 22, 2017

Good morning!

I was trying the Jennifer McGuire water stamping technique this weekend
so here are a couple of sample I did with DRS stamps.
I think I should have left the stamps on a little longer but this was my attempt.
The first background is stamped with background stamp Script Font Bg. 098P
after sponging Oxide Distress inks onto white card stock.
I stamped the Three Butterflies 744F on white, colored then fussy cut adding pearls for flight trails.
The sentiment actually says the same thing as the background, Life Is Measured 216F and die cut with a pieced oval.
The border die is from Heartfelt Creations.

My next card was basically done the same way but I used the World Map Backgroud 572P to water stamp (mist stamp with water and lay it on the Oxide Ink for a few minutes). I then stamped Pretty Bird Odie Parrot 207G, Flower Border 1076H, and Life is Measured 216F onto white and colored then fussy cut, die cut sentiment. I found some Cheery Lynn leaves to use for a jungle effect.

Rainbow colors always show up better on black to me so I used black card stock for my card base on both cards.

Thanks for visiting today!

Cowgirl Thing

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has gone well! I'm pretty sure wherever you are in the US, it's been hot, hot, hot! I think it's kind of odd that for the most part, the NE has been hotter than we've been down here in the SE. Not complaining..it's just odd. Well we have had a ton of rain, so maybe that's why. Sure does make it steamy, though.

Today I have a cute little Cowgirl  to share. Isn't she adorable? After stamping & color her, I added the greeting beside her & colored it, too. Then I used just the sparkle element from the greeting I used on the inside & stamped it w/ lt pink & lt blue. I added the paisley embossed topper & some stickles for the bling.
Here's a look at the inside & below it are the Copic I used.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Wedding Moments

>> Thursday, July 20, 2017

Welcome!

What is more fun than getting new stamps and figuring out what you're going to pair them with?  Our new Life is Measured stamp just screamed wedding to me so that's exactly where I went :)

I started by stamping our Wedding Ring Ensemble stamp using black ink and adding the Life is Measured greeting using pink ink.  In keeping with my new sponging technique I only sponged the top and bottom using the same pink ink.  I colored the flowers and candles using pencils and the rings using a gold pen, then mounted it on silver paper.  For my background I stamped our Polka Dot Background on a folded pink card using white pigment ink and once it was dry I assembled it all together.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Bricks, Birds, and Palm Trees

>> Wednesday, July 19, 2017

I have always loved brick (I grew up where there was not much of it so I thought it was awesome) so I was excited to see this new Brick Wall image. If you check out recent posts, you can see all the wonderful ways the design team members have colored it up.  I did traditional colors.

I also used the new Just Dropping You a Line Greeting and Pretty Bird Odie Parrot. I bot a new set of Prisma Colors this weekend, and I tried them out on the birds.

I also did some spritzed stamping using the new Silhouette Palm Tree image and made this card:

The sentiment is cut from the Life is Measured Greeting (I used the whole greeting insides).

Boots and Bling

>> Tuesday, July 18, 2017

Hi Everyone,

This new Lasso Cowgirl stamp is super adorable!  I just love the little smile on her face, she's super girly, and  I made this with my 8 year old self in mind :)  Back then, purple was my favorite color, until pink took over as the new favorite, so that's how they ended up on this card together.

I colored her up using my Copic markers, die cut and matted her, along with the Boots and Bling Cowgirl Greeting too.  The background was dry embossed and I added a border and lace doilyt, since lace is good and girl like as well.

The sentiment pretty much makes it a requirement to add lots of gems, so out of my drawer and onto the card they flew in a flash!

Here's hoping your week is going well!

Wild thing???

>> Monday, July 17, 2017

Well this card turned into something totally different than I had envisioned. But I think I like it. When I received the new Pretty Bird Odie, the Parrot I knew I wanted to color him to look like an African Grey Parrot. When we lived in Germany we babysat an African Grey for friends for a year and fell in love with that bird. Her name was Gabby and we thought that was because she was from Gabon, West Africa. We soon learned the real reason for her name. That bird could gab! She had lived in France for a while so she spoke some French. She always told us good night in French and she would whistle the French National Anthem. She was so good at imitating voices. She soon learned to call my husband's name in my voice and my name in his. She had us answering and looking for each other all the time!  The kids taught her to say "Eat me, yum!" Not sure the owners appreciated that new phrase. Anyway, in honor of Gabby my parrot is an African Grey.

I started by stamping, coloring and fussy cutting Odie and Jimbo and the gang. To make it look like a jungle I die cut a bunch of leaves from various shades of green CS as well as some from yellow and orange CS. The Markers Mart Die of the Month kit for July was tropical leaves. Talk about good timing! So after die cutting all the leaves, I die cut a green frame and partially glued it onto the kraft card base. I added Jimbo and the gang and then began placing all the leaves where I wanted. I had no intention of adding so many, but it kind of took on a life of its own. Once I had things where I wanted I started gluing everything down with TH Multi Matte Medium. The last thing I did was stamp Wild Thing onto kraft CS and die cut it with a banner die.

I stamped Odie on the inside with VersaMark ink and added the "It's a Jungle Out There" greeting.

Well I hope you like my African Grey Parrot with his jungle friends. Be sure to check the DRS Designs on line store for all the new images, including Pretty Bird Odie.

Thanks for stopping by today!

blessings,
shelia
